Tomorrow we celebrate strong women.
We at Polished know all about strong women as this spa is owned and operated by ONE woman who goes by the name of Nikki.
Nikki not only worked her a** off to create the most beautiful space imaginable for a spa but she has single handedly chosen a fantastic team of girls to represent her business and leave all clients feeling beautiful and yep- Polished!
Nikki understands that opening a business in this industry can come with a slow(er) start and with that, she made sure her staff are paid at an hourly rate vs commission. This not only keeps her fabulous team of ladies happy but her as well knowing they are well taken care of.
Tomorrow we celebrate a day without women, an international day organized by those who started the women's march in DC back in January. This day encourages women to take a day off, avoid the malls and wear red in solidarity. Why you ask? Well here's an easy description of why we deem this so important:
"The organizers behind January's March on Washington are using Wednesday as a day of action to spotlight the economic power and value of women and their contributions to society in paid and unpaid labor. Organizers hope to call attention to economic injustices women face such as lower wages, gender discrimination, sexual harassment and job insecurities. The day is also intended to push for gender justice, recognizing that trans and gender non-conforming people face equally compelling issues of discrimination and marginalization." -USA Today

We will celebrate by offering 50% off ALL of our services on Wednesday, March 8th from open until close! We want to participate as best we can by opening our doors to all women to come spend some time with our women who have worked so hard to create their dream career in the beauty industry!
